How to use the date difference calculator
- Choose a start date and an end date on or after it.
- Select Include the end date if you want both boundary dates counted.
- Calculate the duration to see the total days and weeks.
Worked example
From 1 March to 8 March is 7 days, or 1 week. With Include the end date selected, the result is 8 days.
Frequently asked questions
Does it count business days?
No. Every calendar day is included. Weekends and public holidays are not removed.
What does including the end date mean?
The default result is the number of day boundaries between the dates. Including the end date adds one day, so the same start and end date counts as one day.
Does daylight saving time affect the result?
No. Calculations use calendar dates at UTC boundaries, so a daylight saving change does not add or remove a calendar day.
