How to use the pdf to word
- Choose a PDF that contains selectable text. You can check the source by trying to highlight a sentence in a PDF reader.
- Select Process & download and wait for text extraction to finish.
- Download converted.docx, open it in Word or another DOCX editor, and check the reading order.
Worked example
A text-based meeting report can become an editable DOCX draft. You will need to recreate its headings, tables, images and page design in your editor.
Frequently asked questions
Does this work with scanned PDFs?
No. A scan is usually an image and needs optical character recognition (OCR). OCR is not included in this tool.
Is the original formatting preserved?
No. Text is extracted into paragraphs. Images, tables, columns, fonts and the original layout are not preserved.
What if the text order is wrong?
Complex PDFs may store text in a different order from its visual layout. Review the document and reorganize the paragraphs after conversion.
